Spring pictures at the Minnesota Arboretum were a dream come true with this sweet duo.

May is always so beautiful at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum in Chaska. And it is especially breathtaking if you are able to go when the crabapple trees and lilac bushes are blooming. It’s a treat for the eyes but let’s not forget about the smell too. Pure magic.

Kelly and I have crossed paths while taking classes at Barre3 Edina. When she booked a Fall session earlier this year I mentioned I had a Spring opening at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum. She told me she was really wanting to capture this time with her sweet girl and asked if it would be OK if it was just her daughter and herself for this spring picture session. I told her absolutely!

Additionally I mentioned how I myself book many sessions with my daughter because often us mommas aren’t in enough photos. It’s important to capture all the sweet seasons with our little ones.

When the day came, I was so excited to do these Spring pictures of this mother and daughter. It was a sunny evening and blooms were reaching this peak. Kelly picked out the perfect dress that just happened to match all the beautiful bloom colors. I loved capturing their sweet relationship and that gummy toothless smile of her sweet girl.

I’m already am looking forward to capturing their family pictures this Fall in Edina and seeing how much this sweet girl has changed. It’s amazing how much can change in a few short months.
