Sunday’s Sundries
  • Last weekend ended up being busier than expected and so I wasn’t able to post a new Sunday’s sundries. I’m so glad I was able to carve out some time for this week. Here’s what I did!
  • I had the honor of photographing two hand lettering classes last week. You can read more about Shasta’s calligraphy class here. I will be blogging about Woven & Weds class this coming week, so stay tuned.
  • Our schedules aligned pretty well this week so Ryan and I took time to do some biking throughout the week. On Friday, we decided we would do a longer ride. Well that longer ride ended up being the Dakota trail. It starts in Wayzata and ends a little past Mayer. This ride ended up being about 51 miles for us. We made a two pit stops along the way to fuel up before making our way back. We also had a little delay as Ryan managed to pop a tube and tire when we still had 20 miles to the car. Luckily, he knows how to fix a tube and we carry a little extra of everything for incidents like this.
  • I was able to spend a day this week with my youngest niece! We had so much fun at her morning gymnastics class. We then headed to one of her favorite lunch spots, had playtime at chutes and ladders, reading time at barnes and noble, and a pit stop for treats before picking up her sister at school. It was so much fun having a girls day with her!
  • On Saturday, we headed downtown as Target Field Station was holding a tribute night for Prince. The weather was perfect so we enjoyed listening to a few songs before we met up with some friends for appetizers and a night of music downtown.
  • This coming Saturday, I am teaming up with a few other creatives for the second annual Road to Freedom Scholarship Mother’s Day Portrait event. 100% of the money raised for this event goes directly to the children of the RFS workers and volunteers. This provides them clean water, meals for a day, a bed, a uniform, safety from rape and violence, and an education. RFS mission is to educate and empower children living in extreme poverty.  You can read more about RFS here. If you would like more detail and to partake in a session contact: lynnyounglove@roadtofreedomscholarships.org.
