This past weekend, I had the opportunity to photograph my friend Shasta’s beginners Calligraphy Workshop, in NE Minneapolis. We have been working on some projects together this past year, but this was something different and I was excited to see her in action with all her attendees. It was fun hearing how everyone heard about the workshop and why some were interested in taking the course. Some were wanting to practice for a upcoming event, others just wanted to experience the art of calligraphy. This was a small and intimate size workshop, that allowed each attendee, to get as much guidance and assistant from Shasta.
No experience is necessary for this beginners course that she offers. You will learn the basics of modern pointed pen calligraphy and leave with you own starter kit that includes a set of pens, nibs and practice book. Check out more of her upcoming workshops here.
