A few days before I was heading out to California, I got a message from Alyssa, saying her and her family live in the Los Angeles area and would love to have a family session. They recently welcomed their son Leo and hadn’t had family pictures since then.
I have known Alyssa since my childhood since we both grew up in the same small town of New Prague, MN, went to private school together, her mom was my kindergarten teacher, and our families were both in the same church group. After years of our paths not crossing it was so great meeting her husband and two boys in California! We planned for a family session at El Matador State Beach, in Malibu, CA. It was a perfect evening of catching up after all these years, watching her son Will get so excited about the birds flying over us, and capturing their sweet family of four.
