This MN newborn photographer has known this sweet family of four for quite a few years now. Meghan and I first met at our local Barre3 Edina back when neither of us had little ones yet.
Fast forward to when her and her husband were welcoming their little girl, she reached out for a newborn session. Since then, I have had the joy of photographing this family a handful of times and also her family’s real estate business. It has been so fun getting to know this family and seeing them grow over the years.
When welcoming their son, Meghan reached out again for a newborn session. This time I had the joy of photographing him not just once but twice!
The first time, this MN newborn photographer popped over to their house soon after baby boy was born. Meghan wanted to be sure we got those early newborn days photographed. I was more then happy to do that, as we had to postpone their family newborn session for a few weeks to allow for some extra time of healing. I always tell families that my number one priority is that everyone is feeling well. So if we need to move schedules around, let’s do so to ensure everyone is feeling good.
The second time around getting to photograph Duke was so special. A big reason was that his big, proud sister got to be there and she couldn’t have been more thrilled! She absolutely adores her brother and it was so special seeing her light up when talking about him and getting to be involved in the photos. Of course toddlers can have hard times when someone new comes into the home, especially when they are there to see the newest member of the family. Which is why I always encourage lots of breaks and letting them be welcomed back into photos when they are ready.
Their Edina home was a dream for this MN newborn photographer as it had so much beautiful natural light. Each of the three spaces that we photographed the family (nursery, master bedroom and living room) provided the perfect light.
