This was the first time I’ve had the opportunity to photograph a wedding at the Cannon River Winery in Cannon Falls! Katie and Eric chose to get married at the rustic 150-year-old timber frame barn which over looks the vineyard. I had been looking forward to this wedding for over a year now and we really couldn’t have asked for better weather for Katie and Eric to tie the knot.
Katie and Eric are both so genuine and easy going and that it makes it so easy to communicate and be around them. I’ve known Eric since middle school and am not surprised that he and Katie have been able to collect such a great group of friends and family (including a former bride of mine in the wedding party!!). Their kindness was also reflected in their twist on a favorite wedding tradition. Instead of getting the couple to kiss by chiming a glass, their guests would instead need to make a charitable donation to see them embrace. There was so much laughter and hugs and cheering going on throughout the day and it was wonderful to be able to capture it.
