I met Laura last spring at a photographers’ workshop and heard that she was having twins! I was thrilled for her and her growing family. Unfortunately, our paths didn’t cross for the rest of her pregnancy. I was so surprised to see her at my friend’s calligraphy class. It was fun to hear about her transition to a mother to twins and balancing her work as an amazing photographer at the same time.
Her twins came during the middle of wedding season and Laura bounced right back into the swing of things. She is a rockstar for running her business successfully, caring for twins plus a teenage girl, and being present for her husband.
We were able to meet up again for coffee and some baby snuggles one afternoon and she asked me if I would like to take the twins’ six month pictures. It was a no brainier to say yes. This session was so special because it was just her and the twins. We talked about assumptions people make about you as a photographer–that you can photograph your littles all the time. In reality, it can be twice as much work because you are the photographer and the baby wrangler. I loved that I was able to document her with the twins and see the interaction she has with them on a daily basis. She is such an amazing mom to these kiddos and they light up every time they see her.
Thank you Laura for spending the morning with me. I loved photographing you and your little six month olds. It was an honor to document this time in your lives.
