I’m so excited to be sharing this Minnetonka, MN newborn photo session today! The morning light, the nursery design and clothing color choices were absolutely perfect.

I have two connections with these first time parents and didn’t realize it until I showed up for their session. Baby girl’s dad and I grew up in the same small town and I have had the pleasure of photographing his sister’s family over the years. Baby girl’s mom is an OB at the same office I went to when pregnant with our little girl. Such a small world! It was so fun catching up and making these connections during their newborn session.

Mom and dad were absolutely perfect for the in-home newborn photo session. Their calmness and attention to their baby girl’s needs made it easy for me to photograph them. In fact, their daughter never even cried (which is very rare) during the entire session.

They told me they took time to fully read through my newborn welcome guide so they would feel prepared for their session. While I understand newborns are on their own schedule I do find the guide helps parents plan for our time together.

I can’t wait to see the three of them and see how much baby girl has grown this Fall.
