Kayla and Mike’s wedding that was held in my hometown of New Prague, MN this weekend was one I won’t soon forget. This wedding I was looking forward to for so long. I actually babysat Kayla once or twice way back in the day, so it was even more special that I now got to witness this next stage in her life.

The day started off with Kayla getting ready at her parent’s house and Mike getting ready at the house that Kayla grew up in and now that the two of them own! Kayla was so incredibly calm and laid back when I arrived that it made for the morning and whole day to flow so smoothly. Kayla’s mom surprised her with a little gift from her own wedding dress to be the something ‘old’ of the day. It was a sweet little surprise that no one was expecting.

We ended up having a beautiful cool summer day for their wedding even if we were watching the radar nonstop. Thick dark clouds were coming and going throughout the day, and we didn’t know when the rain would start. Thankfully it held off for the first look and pictures! It then down poured as Kayla walked down the aisle with her father. But as soon as she and Mike sealed their kiss and walked down the aisle the clouds parted, and the sun came out!! It was all perfect timing! Mike and Kayla became husband and wife at Holy Trinity Church in Veseli with a reception to follow at the Park Ballroom in downtown New Prague.

Kayla and Mike, no one deserves this perfect day more than the two of you. I am so beyond happy that I got to be there and witness this next chapter in your lives. Thank you so much for entrusting me with documenting your big wedding day. I am so grateful for your kindness and respect for your family, friends, and those all around you! Cheers to many years of love and happiness.
