Adoption has been topic of conversation ever since Dan and Kita were married 12 years ago. They have been patiently waiting to add to their family. In early 2014, they talked about starting their domestic adoption process in 2015. However, on September 20th, 2014, they received a phone call from a friend informing them their family member was having a baby due in February 2015. Their friend wondered if Dan and Kita would consider adopting. After a few days of prayer, their decision was clear– this is the opportunity they were waiting for. Dan and Kita met with the birth mother and made a connection. She agreed to allow Dan and Kita to adopt. Everything began happening very quickly, but luckily, they found a great adoption service to work with to expedite the adoption process. Family members and friends began to pour in their support for their adoption journey. After a few short months of funding and preparing to grow their family, their daughter Glory Ann arrived 3 weeks early on January 16, 2015! I was able to spend some time with them in the NICU the following morning and document as they were able to give her a bath, feed her, and hold her for the first time. This is the day they had been waiting so long for.
*Stay tuned for when Glory Ann is released from the hospital and is ready to go home!
