Edina summer family pictures with this crew of five were quite different then the last time I had the chance to photograph them. Previously, it was quite chilly so we had to have coats on standby! But this time, I got to get photographs of them on a beautiful sunny Minnesota evening in dresses and shorts. What a lovely change!
Mom choose the perfect wardrobe for their summer family pictures without everyone matching too much. The pop of color in her yellow dress complimented her daughters floral dress well. By having dad and the boys in light, solid colors it all flowed seamlessly together.
From the start, Mom’s goal for their session was to get a portrait of the three kids together. With the three being the most polite, chatty and cooperative kids they made my job very easy for me. Firstly, we first got a few classic portraits and then moved to having more playful time with their parents.
As I look back at our session, I hope dad will always remember how he was able to carry his three energetic children to mom. When he hands them to her, all three children looked and admired her as the most wonderful mom in the world. I loved how they interacted with each other, what a beautiful moment to witness. Undeniably, these were some of my favorite Edina summer family pictures this year.
