WAKE WINDOW
Try to have your newborn have a little wake window before the session. In return they will hopefully be sleepy for their session. This will make it easier for putting them down for a few individual photos and being passed and forth between mom and dad.

FEED BABY
Right before the session feed your little one. Full belly equals happy baby! Know it is always ok to feed your baby any time throughout the session. It is always just nice to have the little ones belly full before the session starts.

TURN UP THE HEAT
Turn up the heat in your home. Newborns like to be warm!

REMOVE CLUTTER
If the session will be taking place in the nursery try to have your significant other remove the clutter a little before your session time. This would be anything that may be distracting in the background. For example, baby wipes, diaper pail, burp rag on the rocking chair, etc.

BACK UP CLOTHING
Have on to two back up onesies or swaddles available. Newborns are famous for having blowouts or even perhaps having a little spit up after eating. Have a back up will cause less stress than looking for a new outfit in the middle of your session.

I hope you walk away feeling more prepared for your upcoming newborn session.
