A beautiful and dreamy picture session

When the Packard family reached out about a family photos, I couldn’t wait to work with them. There’s something so special about being able to capture a family a location that means so much to them. Mom and Dad are a part of the sailing club on the lake, so it just felt fitting to have Lake Minnetonka Family Pictures.
The weather was absolutely perfect for their family pictures in Excelsior, Minnesota. It might have just been one of those perfect Minnesota evenings where it was the right temp to not need a sweater or be too hot. Plus it was early enough in the year where the evening mosquitoes weren’t out yet.
We had the best time exploring the Excelsior Beach path and grabbed some classic portraits of the family. We then headed down to the sand where their little boy had a fun time exploring.
One of my favorite portraits from these Lake Minnetonka Family Pictures, was of their little boy. I captured a stunning photo in black and white of him sitting in the sand with his little toes crossed and smiling up at his parents. He was so excited exploring the sand and water while having them look adoringly at him.
I loved the different shades of blues mom chose for their pictures. It made them pop off the background and by choosing the different shades and textures it made them all not blend into one another. They were the perfect beach outfits!
