These Chaska Arboretum family pictures were so fun to capture. I couldn’t wait to photograph this family of four again, as it had been a few years since I last photographed them with some extended family members. Seeing the children a little older and their personalities in full bloom was such treat.
We met at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum in Chaska for an evening family session. I absolutely love the location we picked out. The sun was shining right threw the pergola and giving off the most beautiful glow. It turned out to be the perfect backdrop.
One of my favorite photographs from their Arboretum family pictures session is a classic of everyone looking at the camera. Where dad is holding little sister and brother is snuggled up to mom. It’s a wonderful photograph to be able to walk into their home and see.
Another photograph that is my favorite is when brother snuggled up to sister to give her a kiss on the cheek. I hope this is one mom will cherish forever as I am sure in a few years he won’t be so willing to give his sister a kiss on the cheek. 🙂
Mom choose the perfect colors and outfits for their pictures. The blues really popped with the sunlight and green in the background. She did an amazing job selecting different shades of blues instead of having everyone in the exact same blue. By doing so, the blues complemented each other and the natural light was able to reflect back neutrally instead of giving off a color hue on the skin tone.
My biggest tip when selecting outfits is to typically stay away from bright pinks, oranges, neon tones, etc. Again, by choosing the softer color palette the eye is drawn to the connection and emotion of the family, rather than to the bold clothing.
