Katie and Tom, just purchased their new home in Minnetonka, MN a few months ago. Instead of having their original plan of 200+ guests at a local venue in the Minneapolis, Katie & Tom, along with the help of their families got to work and had a small dinner reception in their own backyard. The backyard reception was perfect as they have a huge yard, a pool, a deck that was made for dancing and many areas to spread out. It was a warm summer day with lots of thunderstorms in the forecast but we got lucky and the rain didn’t start to roll in until after the first dances! The two of them got ready in their home on separate levels with their family members. It truly was a photographers dream getting ready spot because it was clean, fresh and so bright in their beautiful new home.
They were married at Our Lady of Grace Church in Edina. The two of them choose not to see one another before the ceremony. It was so sweet to see Tom, see his beautiful bride as she was walked down the aisle by her father. Their ceremony was on live broadcast so their grandparents, neighbors, wedding party and families could continue to see them get married.
Despite all the challenges COVID-19 changed their wedding I think it was absolutely perfect and special that they got to have their own wedding reception at their new home. Thank you Tom and Katie for letting me share this special day with you and your families!
