Jan and Bob met at a mutual friend’s daughter wedding back in 2013. They had known each other for years as they both live in the town of New Prague, MN. It is the same small town that I grew up in so I have heard of both of their last names before. So when I got an email from Jan I was excited to hear more about their families and see where our paths have crossed. It has been fun catching up and sharing stories from our hometown.
After, a few years of dating Jan and Bob built a house together and moved in this past July. One beautiful night in December, Bob, was very adamant about having a bonfire in their new backyard as the weather seemed perfect. They had Christmas music playing in the background since the holiday was just two days away. They shared a drink a sat by the warm fire just talking when Bob got down on one knee to propose to Jan. She was completely taken by surprise, but of course didn’t hesitate to say YES!
While we planned for their engagement session Jan knew she wanted something a little different since they will be having a winter wedding in New Prague. She mentioned how she has always enjoyed running along the paths near the Stone Arch Bridge. When we met for their evening session we decided on a little path nearby without all the crowds and people near. I loved this little nook that we found as the colors were just starting to show this Spring.
Jan and Bob are such a fun-loving and outgoing couple that I can’t wait for their big wedding day celebration this New Year’s Eve!
