Rachel and I have known each other since elementary school. We grew up together and I have the best childhood memories of playing tennis, rollerblading, and talking about boys with her. During college, Rachel and I didn’t see each other much, but when we did, we always spent hours catching up over breakfast and tea. While attending one of my cousin’s weddings, Rachel sat with my husband and I. She updated us on her life and let us know that she was dating a guy named Kevin and it just felt ‘right’. She had a twinkle in her eye and the biggest smile on her face when she was telling me all about him. Right then and there, I knew she found her man. Soon after she asked to meet up for breakfast, told me she was engaged and asked me to photograph her wedding! Of course I said yes. I was beyond excited for her and Kevin.
Their wedding day was filled with so much laughter and happy tears. Kevin and Rachel’s organizational skills resulted in one of the most stress free and laid back weddings for their wedding party, vendors and guests. Their outdoor ceremony took place at Rice Park in St. Paul. Afterwards, their close family and friends celebrated with a dinner and a variety of homemade pies at the James J. Hill library. I cherished the opportunity to give Kevin and Rachel tangible reminders of that wonderful day.
