Three weeks ago, we packed our bags and boarded the plane to find some warmer weather, sunshine, and sand. Our usual travel plans consist of busy cities and lists of things to do and see. However this year, we decided to try something new. We settled on the Dominican Republic after hearing of the gorgeous white, sandy beaches and beautiful seascapes. We knew we wanted a small, intimate resort and quickly fell in love with the Sanctuary. This resort is in the private gated community of Cap Cana. While the main goal of our trip was to relax, of course we had a to-do list that would allow us to explore the island. Surprisingly, after we arrived at the Sanctuary, we didn’t want to leave. We only managed to venture out of the resort once to visit one of the sister resorts. For the most part, we learned to relax by spending long days by the beach and visiting with other travelers. We had an amazing time and I foresee many more beach travels.
